Ethiopian Meseret Defar shattered the women’s world indoor record for the two-mile run at the Boston Indoor Games on Saturday.Defar, the outdoor record holder over the distance and reigning Olympic champion at 5,000 meters, clocked nine minutes 10.50 seconds to beat the old mark of 9:23.38 set by Regina Jacobs in Boston six years ago.
Chris Bosh erased the memory of his worst effort of the season by producing one of his best as the Toronto Raptors pounded the Milwaukee Bucks 106-75 on Friday, stretching their home winning streak to a season-high five games.
Bosh, held to a season-low single point in a loss to the Bucks in their only other meeting this season, displayed his All-Star qualities with 32 points and seven rebounds to help the Raptors earn their seventh win in nine contests.
“I don’t get too hard on myself, I just put that stuff behind me,” Bosh, who has averaged 31.4 points over the five-game home win streak, told reporters.
